At Home Care For Your Bellami Hair Extensions
Brushing:
- Brush daily with the BELLAMI Professional Black Hair Brush to detangle natural hair and extensions. Gather your hair into a ponytail and start at the ends, working your way up.
- Ensure that you brush the natural hair between each row to minimize matting and tangling. If you are wearing BELLAMI K-Tips or BELLAMI I-Tips, carefully separate individual strands as they grow further from your root by gently pulling them apart with your fingers.
Washing:
- Always thoroughly brush your hair before washing to minimize tangling. Consider washing your hair in sections to make it more manageable.
- Gently work a color-safe, sulfate-free shampoo into the rows in a "Z" pattern, rather than a circular motion. Use lukewarm water and avoid hot water at attachment points.
Conditioning:
- Apply conditioner from mid-length to ends, avoiding leaving any on the attachment points. Keep it on for the recommended time, then rinse thoroughly.
NOTE: Use of conditioner or silicone-based products near attachment points may cause slippage.
Drying:
- Apply leave-in conditioner, heat protectant, or treatment oil from mid-length to ends.
- Before blow-drying, remove as much water as possible with a microfiber towel.
- Use cool to warm heat when blow-drying near attachment points.
Styling:
- Always use a heat protectant before applying heat to the extensions, including when using a blow dryer.
- Set the temperature to a safe heat setting not exceeding 450°F. Higher heat over prolonged periods can cause extensions to become dry and brittle, or potentially lead to discoloration and color fading over time.
FOR INFINITY WEFT: Do not apply heat directly to the spine.
Protecting:
- Consider using a showerhead filter to minimize color fade, discoloration, and dryness caused by harsh minerals and chlorine that may be found in tap water.
- Keep hair away from sunscreen, salt water, chlorinated water, and bronzers to prevent discoloration.
- Before swimming, protect your hair by rinsing it with fresh water, applying a leave-in product from mid-length to the ends, and braiding it or tying it into a loose ponytail.
- Never sleep with wet hair and loosely braid it before going to bed to prevent tangling.
- For color services, consult a certified BELLAMI stylist-do not DIY.
In-Salon Maintenance:
- Depending on your installation method, ensure that you return to your BELLAMI-certified stylist for regular maintenance.
